An iconic landmark has reimagined luxury on the Left Bank…
In the vibrant Saint-Germain-des-Prés area of Paris, you’ll find the iconic landmark Hôtel Lutetia — the only luxury grand hotel on the city’s Left Bank (and that’s primely located directly across the street from Le Bon Marché!). Originally opened in 1910, the Art Nouveau property has recently re-opened after a four year total transformation. Keeping the spirit of the historic building, the $200 million renovation restored many of the art deco elements while integrating new contemporary features: accommodations are now larger, the 7,500-square-foot spa is spectacular, and an eclectic mix of exceptional dining experiences have been introduced to cater to any and all desires. The service here is exceptional—especially the concierge—who will definitively recommend all the best local places to go on the Left Bank during your stay. More than a century later, Hôtel Lutetia continues to deliver an authentic Parisian experience and has remained a favorite amongst Parisians…
— THE ROOMS —
By downsizing from the original 233 keys to 184 (of which 47 are suites) — the guest rooms are an elegant and spacious place to retreat in the City of Lights. All guest accommodations are super high-tech and feature the finest details: sconces made of hand-blown Murano glass, stunning soaking tubs made of Statuario marble (each cut from a single block!), along with Hermès silk throw pillows & bath amenities… Consider the Junior Suite, a favorite of ours, for its separate seating area and expansive double closets.
— THE SPA —
The reopening marked an introduction of the new Akasha Holistic Wellbeing Centre — a beautiful 7,500-square-foot spa that houses six treatment rooms, a sauna, steam room, plunge pool, infinity edge jacuzzi, and an ultra-modern fitness room with state-of-the-art equipment. There’s an extensive treatment menu and a range of fitness classes that come complimentary to hotel guests. And last, but most certainly not least, there’s a 55-foot-long swimming pool that’s lit by natural skylight and offers the utmost tranquility in the city.
— THE DINING —
As a place where locals gather, the gastronomy on offer remains central to the hotel experience with an eclectic mix of restaurants, bars and lounges throughout the historical ground floor. Most notable is Le Saint Germain, a grand library-style space that features a gorgeous glass roof with colorful work by the artist Fabrice Hyber. Overseeing the gastronomy of the legedenary Brasserie Lutetia is three Michelin-starred Chef Gérald Passedat.
Bringing the jazz scene back to Hôtel Lutetia is Bar Joséphine—named after Joséphine Baker, a famous “habituée”— a lively spot where you’ll sip a glass of Cuvée Lutetia Champagne, specially created by Maison Taittinger, while admiring Adrien Karbowsky's agricultural-themed fresco that has been restored to its original splendor. If you love cigars, don’t miss the soon-to-open Bar Aristide, an intimate venue where a cigar sommelier will be on hand for those connoisseurs in search of a truly exceptional cigar experience.
