Arrive at this stunning and – for lack of a better word, grand – lakeside property and you will immediately feel as if you’ve been transported through time. While a main street separates the hotel from the manmade beach club and floating pool, the Grand Hotel Tremezzo offers spectacular views of the entire lake and surrounding Alps. For those that prefer some more peace and tranquility, the Flowers Pool is located in a gorgeous garden behind the hotel.
Built in 1910, the iconic hotel and its’ beautifully appointed rooms have since been renovated and effortlessly bridges the traditional Art Nouveau style steeped in history, with a more modern sensibility. The family-run hotel hosts a truly attentive staff and offers a mixture of 76 rooms and 14 suites in total. Some of the rooms overlook the garden, however most of the hotel’s rooms face the lake – so booking a suite isn’t required (but highly recommended!). If you choose to opt for a more modern sumptuous suite, prepare to never leave, as the grand terraces (some with a private Jacuzzi!) and insane views are an experience in itself.

Secretly hidden in the greens of the garden is a rare find for a spa in Europe – the T Spa Suite – a couples suite, where you and your loved one can have the ultimate private spa experience. On the culinary front, there are a few restaurants on property that offer plenty of options for all. The main formal dining room, La Terrazza, offers more formal Italian Fare and doubles as the breakfast room with a delicious buffet. L’Escale is a fondue-focused restaurant that offers a more casual, fun option. For lunch with a view, T Beach offers an array of fresh cuisine or a classic pizza and during the summer holds weekly BBQ’s at night and DJ parties. And last, but most definitely not least, the classic hotel bar is both luxurious and charming with light bites served throughout the day and at night.
