The Tribeca Film Festival was founded by Robert De Niro, Craig Hatkoff, and Jane Rosenthal in 2002 and quickly grew into one of the most popular and reputable festivals of its kind in the United States, and in fact, the entire world. 

For the 2017 edition, the festival has expanded its programming and will debut a Tribeca's Virtual Arcade, in addition to a television sector and N.O.W. program showcasing new online work, stories created specifically for the online space. As a forward-thinking storytelling festival, TFF supports work that goes beyond the big screens and is evolving with the technology-driven time in the creative community.  The 16th annual Tribeca Film Festival will also continue its Tribeca X award, launched last year, looking for the best creative collaborations at the intersection of entertainment and brands.
