DESTINATION: BEST BOUTIQUE HOTELS ON THE BAJA PENINSULA

Destination: Baja Peninsula. We went to Cabo in search of the best boutique hotels. Discover the most under-the-radar, unique stays in Cabo that need to make it onto your list, stat.

1. EL GANZO

THE MARINA-SIDE ONE

A hip adult-oriented boutique hotel that's very art & music-driven, El Ganzo brings a touch of urban edginess to Los Cabos with it's location on the marina — just five minutes from San Jose. Creativity is in El Ganzo's DNA: fun art installations can be found all around, there's a recording studio, and lots of rooftop concert series. There's no shortage of hip places to hang: two pools (we suggest you hit the lively infinity-edge rooftop pool), a spa, a library, a Japanese fusion and sushi restaurant and a rooftop bar. If you're looking a Cabo hot spot that won't break the bank, look no further than El Ganzo.

2. VICEROY LOS CABOS

THE AVANT-GARDE, UBER-LUXE ONE

Designed by architectural icon, Miguel Ángel Aragonés, Viceroy Los Cabos has an ultra-modern take on luxury: it seemingly floats on the dramatic Baja California Sur shoreline. And we mean it when we say it's unlike anything we've ever seen. Individual suites are suspended ‘boxes’ to look as if they were their own islands. The impeccable design carries throughout the property: from polished glass to clean lines that reflect the water surrounding the hotel. State-of-the-art facilitates are found at every turn you take – just check out the lounge cinema or high-tech gym. With a private beach club and lounge, two oceanfront pools, multiple mouth-watering restaurants, and a very nice spa, Viceroy Los Cabos is the perfect place to sit back, relax, and leave all your worries at home. Located minutes away from San José del Cabo it’s just a stone’s throw from the fancy shops and yummy restaurants.

3. THE CAPE, A THOMPSON HOTEL

THE CHIC, COSMOPOLITAN ONE

The Cape, A Thompson Hotel is the epitome of uber-chic and  is a perfect place for those looking for a vibrant social vibe. Designed by visionary Mexico City architect Javier Sanchez, The Cape captures the cosmopolitan taste of Thompson Hotels in a relaxed 1960s Southern California-meets-Baja aesthetic. And it does not disappoint, as each room and vantage point has stunning views that overlook the iconic El Arco and the Bahía San Lucas horizon. The food and drinks are 10 as they should be now that this is where all the cool kids come to play.  The proximity to town is perfect for when you want to hit up the action (although you may feel as though you may never want to leave as the hotel will have rotating DJ’s to entertain its fab guests), all the while having that balanced resort escape-feel while on property. For an unforgettable spa experience, Currents Spa offers ocean-view cabanas on the rocks for al fresco treatments. Need we say more?
